Welcome from the Headteacher, Rachel Tunney
Welcome to Hemlock Stone School, a small, independent specialist school in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, supporting children and young people aged 5-16 with autism and a range of additional needs.
Our recently refurbished environment has been carefully designed to meet the needs of our pupils, providing a safe, nurturing space where every young person can feel understood and supported. As a close-knit school community, we deliver highly individualised learning through a bespoke autism-specific curriculum shaped around each pupil’s strengths, interests and aspirations. Our approach draws on Development Matters, elements of the National Curriculum, the PSHE Association Planning Framework for Pupils with SEND and the Autism Education Trust’s Pupil Progression Framework.
We are ambitious for every pupil, regardless of their starting point, and take pride in celebrating the progress each individual makes. Working closely with families and professionals, we aim to help every young person grow in confidence, develop independence and achieve their full potential.
We look forward to welcoming you to Hemlock Stone School.
